Katie Holmes is part of the long line of young actresses that dominated the TV airwaves and big screen a few years back, but she was one of the few who managed to stick around after the wave died down. Like Michelle Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar or even Jennifer Love Hewitt, Katie Holmes was slated for success even before she left her teen years.
Her rise to fame coincided with the success of Dawson's Creek, in which she played sweet and nave Joey. Fortunately for Katie, in this age of cocaine-obsessed teenage celebrities, playing an innocent young woman wasn't much of a stretch for her, thanks to her strict upbringing. However, that hasn't stopped her male fans from having less-than-innocent thoughts about her (the "girl next door" thing is a powerful aphrodisiac).
